DL3: Extracting Data from HANA

SAP Data Extraction: Let us now retrieve data from SAP and store the data in S3 for post processing activities:

1.Navigate to AWSConsole->All services->Compute->Lambda->Functions ->Click on the Lambda function with description SAPHDB-saphdbTestLambda

2.In your Lambda Function select the drop down near action feature as shown below and click configure test events:

Create New Test Event ->Select Hello World Template from the drop down-> Create new test Event->Give an Event name of your choice->Create.

3.This is a validation step. In your Lambda console note the select query code in the code section;when you execute the test Lambda will do a select statement sql = “select * from {}“.format(hdbTableName) based on environment variables and store the results in the given S3 bucket for post processing activities.

4.Test the event ->Select the test event in lambda and click test. You should see a successful execution result which will store the file from SAP to Amazon S3

5.Validate the data in Amazon S3 bucket used for this lab. You should see the json files in the S3 bucket. Click on the file  Click docwnload. the file to local drive. Click on the file and click on the object url in Amazon S3.

6.Validate the output
